Burgh House is easy to find
The House is a short, picturesque walk from many of the local transport links. The information below will help you plan your journey.
Most sat nav systems will direct you straight to Burgh House using our postcode NW3 1LT.
We do not have a car park and the surrounding streets are residential; pay-and-display bays are very limited. We highly recommend using public transport or taxis. There is a cobbled area opposite the back door (our accessible entrance) to Burgh House where drivers can pause briefly to drop off passengers.
There are dedicated disabled parking bays opposite our accessible entrance on New End Square.
Camden Council also permit Blue Badge holders to park in resident bays, you can find out more here.
Burgh House is a 5 minute walk from Hampstead Underground which is on the Northern Line (look out for the directional signposts), however there is no step-free access from this station. Hampstead Heath Overground Station does have step-free access but please be aware that there is a 10 minute steep, uphill journey to reach Burgh House. If you would like to do a spot of sight-seeing on your way, you can drop into Keats House and 2 Willow Road, both of which are on the route.
Whitestone Pond/Jack Straw’s Castle bus stop is one of the closest to the house and is served by three routes:
From this stop it’s a 5 minute walk to the house (downhill) along Heath Street heading towards the High Street. Just follow the road and turn left down New End Square, head down that hill past the Duke of Hamilton pub (great pub, great food) and past the now closed White Bear and you’ll see Burgh House on your left.
Hampstead Station/High Street are stops on the main high street and are served by the 268, N5 and the 46.
It is a 5 minute walk from the High Street to Burgh House. Look out for Paul’s Bakery which is right next to Flask Walk. Head down Flask Walk and just after the old bath house you’ll come out onto New End Square; Burgh House will be in front of you to the left.
There are two bike racks outside Burgh House on New End Square.
