To supplement our current exhibition on Slade School artists, David Buckman, renowned art historian and author of From Bow to Biennale: Artists of the East London Group, presents a short talk on Phyllis Bray.

Bray (1911-1991), a painter, muralist and illustrator, lived in Hampstead for many years and regularly swam in the ponds on the Heath. She painted many striking paintings of the local area, two of which are currently on display in our temporary exhibition Bright & Brilliant: Hampstead and the Slade School.
