The practice of Japanese ink painting echo the way of the heart. In this short course students will learn to paint using traditional Japanese brushes, ink and fine paper the ‘Four Princes of Ink’, known as bamboo, plum blossom, wild orchids and chrysanthemum.
Each of these subjects, represent one of the seasons, and hold within its practice, key brush strokes of this technique. Based on simplicity and minimalism this work is a training of discipline of hands and mind. It enhance self confidence and flow with brush, promoting new sets of drawing skills.
* Each workshop includes brief introduction and demonstration by Talia, study sheets, plenty of practice time and 1-2-1 tutorial, group discussion, light refreshment and green tea.
*Students will make their own finished piece each workshop
* Beginners are welcome. Intermediate students will be invited for more advance practice.

About Talia
Talia Lehavi is a contemporary artist and a certified teacher of Japanese ink painting and calligraphy. She holds an MA in Japanese art history and has been teaching for many years in her London studio as well as museums around the world. Her teaching includes lectures, demonstration, practical workshops and artist mentoring.
