Johanna Chambers was a Colourstrings child from the age of 18 months, learning singing and cello.  At 10 she joined her local church choir under the direction of Jason Edge, who later became Co-Director of The Royal Schools of Church Music Voices South – a choir which sings Evensong at cathedrals around the South of England.  During her eight years in St James’ Choir she gained her Silver RSCM Medal.  She also learned piano, and played keyboard in a sixties music band for some years.  At 17 she discovered Youth Action Theatre based in Hampton Hill Playhouse, where she developed her acting skills in the hope of eventually performing in opera.  She loves all styles of music, from popular, through musicals, to classical, working with Scilla Stewart her vocal tutor, and is currently taking vocal lessons from Ivor Flint. She is now at the London College of Music for her second year studying a BMus (Hons) in Vocal Performance.
