Kids' Corner

Kids' Corner encourages children to connect with the history and objects on display in the museum through fun, interactive activities and displays.

There is a collection of old-fashioned costumes to try on, toys to play with, pictures of objects in the collection to colour in as well as a beanbag and books to read and enjoy. It is situated within Hampstead Museum.

Family Trail

The Family Trail engages children with the museum displays by asking them questions and encouraging them to lift flaps, press buttons and play with the old-fashioned telephone as they look for the answers.

Year 4 students from New End Primary School (around the corner from Burgh House) wrote the questions and drew the pictures for the trail during their Kids in Museums' Take Over Day in November 2013.

Pick one up for free at the entrance to Hampstead Museum on the first floor.

Celebrating Diwali

3.30pm – 6pm

Friday 20 October

Celebrate the Festival of Lights at Burgh House and enjoy an afternoon full dance, music and family fun by making your Diwali lamp, having your henna tattoo done, writing your name in Hindi and participating in our community Rangoli. Suitable for children 4 and over. FREE

The Big Draw. Living Lines

Sunday 22 October

Join the biggest drawing festival in the world with us. Come and create flip books, zeroscopes, phenakitoskopes and much more in this animation workshop. This is a drop-in activity. Suitable for ages 5 and over. FREE

 

Halloween Kids’ Party

Friday 27 October, 1 – 3pm

Our frightfully fabulous Kids' Halloween Party is back! There'll be spooky story-telling and creepy craft activities, fancy-dress competition and a monstrous museum trail. Advance booking is essential. Ages 8 and under. £10 per child. Available here. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Mini Portraits

Inspired by previous Burgh House resident George Williamson, drop by to create your own miniature portrait. Suitable for ages 7 and over. FREE

 

‘Appy ‘Ampstead Workshop

Sunday 10 December

Find out who were the Pearly Kings and Queens and join us for a crafty afternoon at Burgh House. This workshop is suitable for ages 6 and over. £5 per child. Available here

Christmas Cards

What a better way to start your Christmas Holidays than creating a lovely Christmas Card to send your best wishes to your dearest. Suitable for ages 3 and over. FREE
