Burgh House & Hampstead Museum Conservation

At Burgh House, we are committed to keeping our collections stored and displayed in optimum environmental conditions. However, some objects in the collection are in need of remedial (practical) conservation, which can be costly as it must be undertaken by professional conservators, who specialise in particular media.

Our collections care and conservation plan includes object assessment and condition checking, enabling us to monitor sensitive objects and identify any items that may need urgent attention.

In this exhibition, you will see examples of objects and artworks in our collection that are in need of remedial conservation as well as objects that have been successfully conserved.

If you would like any further information about conservation at Burgh House, or would like to support our conservation programme through making a donation, please contact us.
