"Windmill Hill"

This sketch depicts the well known home Capo di Monte located at the corner of Upper Terrace and Judges Walk.  The building is currently a Grade-II listed and is one of the most famous buildings in Hampstead. It dates from before 1762 and is located in one of the oldest areas of Hampstead.Former residents include Sarah Siddons, Kenneth Clark and Marghanita Laski.

The artist Sydney Arrobus (1901-1990) was a well known figure in Hampstead.  He often could be found out sketching the streets, houses, and shops of Hampstead. During his lifetime his work was shown at the Royal Institute of Painters and Watercolours and the Hampstead Artist Council.
