Often depicting humorous or patriotic scenes, postcards like this one were sent to soldiers on the front line to show support from loved ones. The London Home Depot – where post bound for the Western Front was sorted during the First World War – was based in Regent’s Park and was run by 2,500 staff, most of whom were women.
