Isokon Long Chair (1937)

The Pritchards set up the Isokon Furniture Company in 1935 with the help of Walter Gropius. Hungarian architect and former Bauhaus student Marcel Breuer was brought in to design a long chair in plywood. Breuer finished the design in 1936 and production began the following year. By 1939, the company was making seven to nine chairs per week.
