This oil painting of Haverstock Hill in Hampstead portrays a lively street scene in 1905. Visible behind the trees is the spire of St. Stephen's Church (built in 1869). On the left are carriages parked in front of a cabman's shelter whose roof is just peaking out above them. The figures are dressed in period Edwardian clothing. The busy street features women walking their dogs, children looking into shop windows and a man driving a horse and cart.
The artist is currently unknown though it is believed to be of the English School. If you can make out the signature or have any ideas do contact us.
